i got my oil changed today, did some grocery shoppin'... spent about an hour chopping veggies for a massive batch of veggie soup i'm making late tonight after the sun goes down since i can't use the stove for a long time without heating up the house really bad, it's so hot in here.

Gia went to the Toledo zoo for the 1st grade field trip today. My friend was a chaperon for another group there and she said she ran into Gia at the zoo WITHOUT her group, she was playing in the fountain and was soaking wet. The chaperon for her group DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE she wasn't with them. My friend told her to go find her group and waited until she had before she went on with the kids she had. I don't think I'll let Gia go on field trips again until she's old enough to call me if she gets lost or KNOW what to do if something like that happened, basically when I can trust to be alone in case her chaperon is a retard.

That chaperone needs to be taken out. WTF? I've been to the Toledo Zoo and for 1st graders--it's HUGE! Did you have to pay a lot for that trip? Digression--anyway! We've gone on field trips all over and when I chaperone, I'm always counting to 4 or 5, ya know? Last field trip, I'm all, "Jessi, Lillian, Mallory..Emily. Where's Emily?" She liked to lag behind. I knew this and thus kept track of her a bit more than I had to the others.
If someone isn't gonna chaperone, why bother going? Oh wait, free trip, I guess? Stupid people.
My kid would be the one lagging behind.. lol, she is a "Stops to smell the roses and enjoy every little thing" kinda person... HOWEVER, she is 7 years old and she was playing in the freaking fountain by herself... she got home, she was ok, i'm trying not to dwell on what could have happened but ... there are so many things that could happen to a 7yr old not being attended at a busy public place. if they go to the zoo next year she'll be missing school that day and we'll go as a family and she can say hi to her friends when she sees them there, i'm done trusting chaperons.
